Running promotions on Facebook

As a person you can't run promotions or place ad's - and importantly you can't attract followers.

December 23, 2018 By ThinkFirst

The statistics on Facebook users are staggering. In under 15 years Facebook has become the biggest social network by users and the countries it covers. The company says it had 2.27 billion monthly active users in 2018.

Page or Person?

If you’re running a business and using Facebook , you should be set up as a ‘page’ and not a person.

Facebook’s Open Compute Project, an initiative to share the custom-engineered technology in its first dedicated data center in Prineville, Oregon.

As a person you can’t run promotions or place ad’s – and importantly you can’t attract followers. Avoid confusion and delete any ‘people’ set-up to promote your business. But before you do post a series of messages telling your followers – you can invite them – to follow your new page. Creating a page is free and quick.

Make sure you fully complete the information about your business – including information about the history, location, special services etc.

Make it personal

Most people dealing with a small business without some of the assurances that come with a big-brand name, want to feel as if they know something about the people they’re dealing with. This is especially important if you’re setting up a business and don’t have the track record that might reassure people. Include something about what drove you to set up the business, or perhaps why it’s important.
